The John Adams Institute is a collaboration between groups at Royal Holloway, the University of Oxford and Imperial College, London. At Royal Holloway our main activities revolve around the design and simulation of electron accelerator beam diagnostics.
We offer various hardware, simulation and computing projects with the JAI for undergraduate students from both RHUL and outside. A page containing summaries of the student work is here. For information on available projects and possible placement within the group please email any academic group member.
Via various project grants and generous support from the University we have developed a fully refurbished and equipped laboratory for accelerator science. Equipment includes a full suite of RF bench measurement systems, high speed digitizer systems in different formats, lasers, optics and opto-mechanics. A full list of equipment can be found in the inventory and further details about the refurbishment at Laboratory Upgrade. A couple of old, related pages are hardware systems and computing environment for your reference.
