Vega Lines

  • Try to fit with a set value for the amplitude
  • Test the values of the fit parameters
  • Look up the Voigtian fitted parameters for Vega
  • find some measure of the strength of a line
  • Look at the convolution with a -ve $\sigma$
  • convolute with the mean about 0, apart from one (Gaussian) as the mean of the convolution if the sum of the means
  • look up an interpolating function

Errors

  • should follow a binomial, multinomial individually
  • compare one column of pixels with its rms

Mapping

  • check that the tans are in the first quadrant so arctan works correctly

Next

  • Look at some other targets
    • a mixture of pressure and thermal broadened
