John Adams Institute for Accelerator Science

Introduction

The John Adams Institute is a collaboration between Royal Holloway Physics department and the Nuclear and Particle Physics sub-department of the University of Oxford. At Royal Holloway our main activities revolve around electron accelerator beam diagnostics.

Research projects

Accelerator Laboratory

Via various project grants and generous support from the University we have developed a fully refurbished and equipped laboratory for accelerator science. Equipment includes a full suite of RF bench measurement systems, high speed digitizer systems in different formats, lasers, optics and opto-mechanics, more details can be found here on hardware systems and computing environment

Summer students

We offer various hardware, simulation and computing projects with the JAI for undergraduate students from both RHUL and outside. A page containing summaries of the student work is here. For information on available projects and possible placement within the group please email any academic group member.
