Feedthrough Antenna Design with Bead

The coupler was redesigned so that the antenna is now in the middle of the waveguide. Other dimensions are:

Dimension Design 1 Design 2
Bead radius/mm 0.8 0.8
Bead curvature/mm 0.5 0.5
Bead length/mm 1.0 1.2
Distance from end of waveguide/mm 4.93 4.44

The waveguide-antenna separation and the distances from the end of the waveguides were optimised for resonant frequency and reflection:

Bead Length/mm
1.0 1.2

The shorter bead was chosen since it seems to give the best reflection and least sensitivity in terms to separation from the wall of the waveguide. The resonant frequency and loaded quality factors of the dipole modes for the full geometry were then determined using an eigenmode solver.
