Hey, my name is Jacobo Blanco although English-speakers call me Jacob or Jay, its just much easier. I've recently been awarded with an MSci in Astrophysics. My thesis focused on using different methods for data analysis searching for SUSY signatures in the dilepton channel using Atlas MC. I also worked at CERN as part of their summer student programme. I was part of the CERN ATLAS team, searching for SUSY in the one-lepton channel. I studied different methods for background estimation including template fitting, scale factors and the so called ABCD method.

I am currently working in the Top Quark group performing a Top quark charge measurement with a possible extension into examining Top-quark pair resonances.

I have a keen interest in cosmology, relativity, quantum mechanics, mathematics and in my spare time I like to tinker with computers, software, play guitar and video games.
