Hey, my name is Jacobo Blanco although English-speakers call me Jacob or Jay, its just much easier. I worked in the Particle Physics group under the supervision of Dr. Teixeira-Dias during the summer of 2009. I used the Athena package version 14.5.0 to generate and analyze Fermiophobic Higgs events. During term-time I am a full-time MSci Physics student at RHUL about to finish my degree programme. In the past I have worked under the supervision of Prof. Blair and Dr. Bosco performing laser-beam diagnostics as part of the R&D of a fast-scanner for the laser-wire project. At the moment I'm working under the supervision of Dr. Glen Cowan on the search for supersymmetry in the dilepton plus jets channel at ATLAS.
My main interests lie in the advance methods for HEP data analysis, including the use of multivariate classifiers such as artificial neural networks and boosted decision trees. I also have a keen interest in cosmology, relativity, quantum mechanics, mathematics and in my spare time I like to tinker with computers, software, play guitar and video games.
