Before taking data

  • Time of turn on: 18.20.
  • Cooler set to -7 degrees.
  • Temp at -6.9 degrees at 18.30.
  • Center the telescope on Vega.
  • Aling the telescope to Vega. (~Mode on the controller)
  • Speed 5 and later 3 on controller while focusing on Vega.
  • Microfocuser used to fine focus.
  • Speed 3 to place Vega in the center of the image.

Alpha Persei Cluster (Cr 39, Mel 20)

  • We chose our cluster as the Alpha Persei cluster.
  • To focus on the cluster we chose a nearby bright star Mirphak.
  • We used it to correct our ofocusing and we synched Stellarium wityh the telescope.
  • We choice a patch of the cluster (HIP16001) and took 10 vimages of 10 second exposures. ( x binning set to 1, x anmd y originally inverted, this was reversed)
  • 5 bias frames and dark frames of 5 1min exposure.
  • Took 3 40 s red.
  • Took 3 40-s gtreen.
  • Took 3 90 s blue.

  • Move to a different patch (around RA:3h29min29s, DEC:49deg44'16")
  • Ian joined us at 20:00
  • 3 images of 60s visual.
  • 3 images of 120s red.
  • 3 images of 120s green.
  • Finished taking data at 8.30 pm.
