+++---Loss of LVM mirror

To boot the system the Logical volumes need to be started:

Boot from a live OS

lvm pvscan lvm vgscan lvm lvscan

to find all the names

lvm vgchange -ay --partial VolGroup00

lvm vgreduce --removemissing --force VolGroup00

This will enable the volumes

Recreate the partitions on the replacement drive. then add the physical volume

pvcreate /dev/sdb1 lvm vgextend VolGroup00 /dev/sdb1

Re mirror the volumes

lvmconvert -m1 "volume name" e.g. /dev/vg_blackbox/usr

md mirror volume

recreate partition

just readd the partition to the MD

mdadm --manage /dev/md127 --add /dev/sda1
