PH3010 Solar Limb Darkening MSci

• Dome entered at 10am, present CM SH AS JC
• Telescope cover removed, solar filters put on
• camera set up removed from previous observation
• colour filters and camera DMK 21AF04.AS attached and fire wire connected to telescope
• telescope turned on and GPS fix taken
• dome doors opened and slewed so shadow aligned on wall behind telescope
• telescope moved so its shadow was minimal in size and the shape of the solar filter was visible
• astronomical tracking turned on and manual focussing completed by turing focus knob
• using live feed of IC Capture, image moved to approximate equator
• 11:20 observation began
• red filter positioned in front of camera
• speed 3 slewed to right for 20 seconds
• sequence timer set for 405 seconds 1 sec interval
• red_drift taken (exposure 1/3003 gain 1023)
• scan aborted due to tree blocking image, file changed to red_drift_badrun
• 11:50 observation restarted
• red_drift drift scan taken file uploaded to slack (exposure 1/1000, gain 1023)
• red filter changed to green moved to centre of sun and exposure altered (exposure 1/700, gain 1023)
• green_drift file uploaded to slack
• green filter changed to blue (exposure 1/367, gain 1023)
• blue_drift file uploaded to slack
• blue filter changed to clear (exposure 1/10000, gain 1023)
• clear_drift uploaded to slack
• blue filter used again (exposure 1/367, gain 1023)
• blue_redrift aborted due to cloud cover of at least 10 frames
• blue_redrift1 started with same exposure and gain values
• blue_redrift1 uploaded tp slack
• dome doors repositioned above motor and closed
• telescope slewed to 0h0d
