  • Fixed then destroyed the Linux partition on the Camera computer
  • Caused by repairing the windows install.
  • Reinstalled Andor Camera software, tested and found it to be operational.
  • The Camera is on the centre axis, TPC is not however.

  • Started Friday, finished Tuesday, taken several camera exposures to check the focus, all looks good
  • Installed source holder (needed some machining work)

  • IMG_20170207_153559.jpg

    • The ground and anode planes
    • A piece of copper tape used to check the origin of a bright reflective feature (blueing from the door weld)
  • focusframe.gif
  • Notes on the above image
    • Download and install the cfitsio library from NASA and build it
    • http://heasarc.gsfc.nasa.gov/fitsio/
    • ./configure --prefix=/usr/local/
    • make
    • make shared (it doesn't do it during installation)
    • sudo make install
  • I used a simple makefile and added the library and header to my file and then adapted used an example program to extract the raw pixel values.

  • Work on the lab has started... holes in walls are being patched, electrical boxes that are 40 years old are being removed, the floor is being taken up... watch this space
  • MIT chamber and equipment has apparently been shipped (finally) again watch out for trucks and piles of equipment!
