Spectrocopy Project

The main aims of this project are to observe a star to obtain its spectrum, then analyse this to find where the lines come from and then determine which line broadening mechanisms are dominant in the star.

  • The project starts with calibrating the spectrometer so that the spectral lines can be measured.
  • The spectrum of a chosen star is then recorded and investigated.
